I want to replace my laptop. We use the computer to access the web only. Ebay, stocks, email, etc.

Is 500GB harddrive enough? Is 4GB memory enough. Or should one upgrade to 640GB and 6GB?

You are comparing CPU's from two entirely different leagues. The i5 is far and away better. Though for your usage chances are it wont make much difference.

Depends if you need more than 500GB, only you can answer that.
Should be enough for basic office/web browsing usage.

ASUS is a brand, fairly good one at that.

The Pentium is entre range CPU that is made for office(internet browsing, email, that use).

If that is all that you are doingwith this computer, then yes. It is perfectly fine, it would not be worth getting an i5. Although I would consider an AMD APU. They are alot more balanced and versatile.
