Hello, I have an HP m9060n quad core running Vista 32 bit. I recently purchased windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I boot the PC from the install disk and it says loading files then it goes to a black screen that says "Starting Windows" but it never moves from that screen. What could be wrong? And also I checked that my computer is capable of running a 64 bit system.

Solution
Be patient, on some motherboards it can take a long time at this point to continue, give it at least a quarter of an hour or more. If after a half an hour it still fails to continue then faulty memory is the likely cause. Use memtest86 4.0a to test.
When you are waiting for it, it can seem like a long time.
