Amd or nvidia

i am confused between gtx 550ti and hd 6790

hd 6790 is a bit faster but amd has shitty drivers

so which one should i buy

power supply 500 watts
dual core e5500(OC 3.2)
3 gigs 800mhz
mobo-dg41rq

help needed cause going to order in 2 days

If you think AMD driver is shitty then go ahead and buy NVidia. As far as I know 6790 is faster than the 550 Ti.

The drivers are fine, for every one that has an AMD issue there will be one with Nvidia issues.
To be honest these issues tend towards the top end new cards that are playing AAA titles, SLI and Crossfire figure quite high as well on the list of set ups with driver issues.

A single mid table card should be fine.

I would defiantly go for the 6790 its faster all in all and some times the difference between the two is playable and not depending on the game and resolution.

So on top of what is your power supply I would ask your screen resolution and which games you are looking to play.

as the time goes the drivers of gpu is becoming better so no need to worry there will be no ddriver issues the driver issues can be seen in new card.

i have ordered gtx 550ti from flipkart

even though hd 6790 is fast by 10%

they both will be an overkill for my 1360x768 screen so no prob now

for me ,nvidia is more trustworthy

who said to you that amd is not trust worthy it is i m also from india btw.

most of the people in world uses amd gpus they have problems in starting with little bit bugs but after installing a new driver that problem is fixed.

my first gpu was from nvidia and second from amd they both didnt give me any problem at all

but still
my gtx 460 died as i had given it to my friend
now i need another gpu
gtx 460 had served me well so going nvidia
my brother's has a amd gpu 6770m
its gud but it gets continuous driver stopped working error
i never had to face one so NVIDIA all the way for me now

so this will 80 and it will be higher than my monitors refresh rate
