Help Build: Home Server/Media Server

November 14, 2012 3:17:50 PM

I'm trying to get some help building a home server. Something to store all my movies/music in one place and be able to stream to any of my tv's/devices around my place. Being able to stream youtube or any other media sites from the server computer to the tv would be awesome if dueable.

Im trying to make this as cheap as possible and purchase as soon as possible. I will not be gaming on this computer. Its only purpose will be storage. Only time i will interact with it i guess is to put more dvd movies onto it or music, and of course streaming movies from it.

I'm incredibly new when it comes to home servers. I have built my own computers and such in the past but never made a server computer so any tips/help would be awesome and appreciated.

Here is what I was suggested to buy for the desktop. Keep in mind I want this thing to be as cheap as possible. And able to add storage in the future.
