New build assembled... but no video

that is my build. everything is assembled. when i powered up i got no video. i tried using an hdmi cord as well as a vga cord on the mobo. its receiving power, all of the fans are blowing.

the real problem is... i have no idea where to start.

-edit- i get 1 beep when i power on. and the lights on the case are all functioning properly.

disconnect all drives and then power up the system. see if you get any video or anymore beeps. also try reseating the ram

shouldn't the video cords be hooked up to the video card its self, it should have a hdmi or vga slot on your video card. Try those if you haven't.

right i didn't see that part. plugging the video into the mbo means you are trying to use the onboard video. you have to plug it into the actual video card to get a signal

using the gpu will work for the first boot? i can only use my hdmi cord on the gpu, it doesnt have the vga cord slot i have.

these days when you plug a graphics card into a motherboard it will automatically disable the onboard video so you need to plug the monitor into the graphics card

omg. XD at least everything seems to be hooked up properly.

hdmi plugged into the gpu worked (i tried it before but it wasnt firmly set in place)
