Help Choosing?

Hi, i currently have this setup:

Core 2 Duo 3.1GHz
4GB DDR2 Ram
Nvidia 9400GT 512MB
Windows XP Pro

I don't see why socket 775 is getting old, it plays mafia 2 and battlefield 2. The only problem i have is mafia, it run in low detail and resolution which is bad because i have a 1080p 22inch moniter, and i have to run mafia 2 on 1024x768, so as you can imagine, it looks crap. I was wondering, if i upgraded my GPU to a 6770

Would i be able to run at 30-40fps on 1080p or at least 720p. Thanks!

If you're looking at the 67XX series from ATI then go all the way up to the 6790, that said it's worth the extra 20$ to go up to a 6850.

I had used a 6790 for months, and it OC'd really well, and it was burly cheap GPU but I found it ran kind of hot (80*C under load)

I've currently got 6850s in crossfire, but even just one 6850 is awesome for the price point.
