Hey guys,

i have this older workstation laying around and i'm wanting to use it for F@H 24/7. how well would the setup work for this purpose. The Specs that matter are below. It has a PCI-E x16 slot so in the future i can up the graphics.


PROCESSOR: Pentium 4, 3.4GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz Front Side Bus
MEMORY: 2GB PC3200 DDR2-400 SDRAM
HARD DRIVE: 160GB SATA Hard Drive
VIDEO: NVIDIA Quadro FX 1300
OPERATING SYSTEM : Windows XP PRO Installed

One thing, f@h does heat things up. Take a few mins to blow the dust off the CPU heatsink. Download an use a tool like HWMONITOR from CPUID (makers of cpuz) to record current and max temps.

You video card support openCL so it will proably run a folding client. See if you can fold on both the CPU and GPU. (ditto temp thoughts)
