I will be building a new rig with CM 450W PSU, Intel DZ-Z68 Mobo or Intel H67 mobo depending on processor and Corsair Vengeance 1333 4GB DDR3 RAM.

Now most of my works will focus on 3ds max rendering, Revit designing, Photoshop designing and playing games like Skyrim, MW3 and some high end games at 1280x720 at medium to high settings. I have a PALIT GT440 GDDR5 1GB Graphics card which I do not want to change.

My question is do I go with i5-2400 and H67 combo or i5-2500K and Z68 and overclock. Is the gain in performance worth the difference of price of Z68 and i5-2500k?I can get a SSD instead of HDD with that money. How much can I expect a gain in performance with overclocking?I will be using CM HyperTX3 EVO cooler and expecting to overclock the i5-2500k at arnd 4.5-5GHz.

Remember gaming is not that important to me.

If gaming isn't much of a priority, I would consider getting an i7 2600 (non K) and a decent H61/67 motherboard. The hyperthreading of the i7s should come in handy with some of the rendering and editing work you do. Even for gaming it will perform great.
