Odd issue

An extremely high-pitched squeeling noise coming from my computer, that seemingly becomes more noticeable the further I am stood away from my computer. Any idea what it could be?

  1. It could be a fan bearing going out but, I think if you trace that back to the source, you will find it comes from the PSU. A phenomena known as "coil whine". It does not mean anything in itself (it is considered a minor manufacturing defect) and you may be able to get rid of it by changing the load on your computer - adding or removing hardware (hard drive, fan(s), graphics card etc...) if the PSU is the source.
  2. Interesting, I don't have anything I can remove.
