I want to buy a new processor and my budget range is 120-130$.First i thought of buying a AMD FX-6100 but not sure whether it is a good processor or not. Please suggest me a good Processor

Note

1 - Im not a heavy gamer. But all the games should run smoothly at Meduim resolution. Its Enough.
2 - .Im a heavy downloader and sometimes keep my PC on continuously for 3-4 days.
3 - Im an encoder. So i encode lots and lots of movies.
4 - Already have a graphic card so problem about in built graphics.
5 - I will never do crossfiring and overclocking.

If your using it more for video encoding, rendering, and things like that AMD seems to be better. Intel is a gamers chip and is way better in terms of gaming. When I had a Phenom II X4 965 BE it did render video 30-45 seconds faster. But I wouldnt get a FX processer or at least any of the bulldozer series processors. If your looking at AMD then go for the new pile driver CPU's which are FX but better than their predecessors. Such as the 6300 or 4300.

For encoding i3 is useless since its a dual core. Gaming ti would be well but since your doing encoding i agree with abCasPeRR stick with piledriver and youll probably play games at ultra if you get a good GPU with the cpu

FX 6300. It's better than i3 when doing multi threaded and demanding work.

6300 is very good. Will do good on gaming and excellent is encoding. The newegg deals are very good. The 6300 is a hexa core while the i3 is a dual core speaks for itself.

If you plan to Overclock in future, then certainly you'll need a Specialised Cooler.

Stock Cooler will be fine with the AMD Quad/Hex cores.

Heat problem arises in the 8-cores. But, then the stock cooler provided with it is also top-notch.

None. That motherboards are using FM2 socket. You need AM3+ (or AM3?) socket for it to work.

One more doubt is i already have a 8400gt nvidia GPU.Both the MOBOs have ATI 3000 series on them. Will it be a problem???

Go with MSI, only for the Higher FSB.

Just put install the 8400GT in the PCIe slot, and disable the Integrated Graphics. You'll be fine.
