Well the 670 is an awesome GPU and I am sure the 660 ti will be as good. Most brand are the same when it comes to OC'ing them so if you are going to spend money on a card.

I would get a card aready OC'd from the factory. This way if anything goes wrong the warranty will cover. If you OC it and something goes wrong then you will not be able to get it fixed.

With that being said I would look at the EVGA, XFX, and MSI brands. EVGA has the best warranty program and they have a step up program. On certian XFX card you get life time warranty.

MSI has a good coustomer service in place and a good return program. You have a nice rig. When I up grade my cards and spend a lot of money I want a life time warranty with out any hassles.

Just to show you the difference in the cards. Here is the GTX 580 vs the GTX 670. You will be supprised. So maybe the 660 Ti will be better than the 570? I do want to wish you good luck.

Well I noticed most of them got out of stock now. But probably this one would be the best currently:

By looking at the number of the reviews of the 670 at newegg, I don't think it's a good sale after all, this is really strange. It's suppose to be a great card. Maybe it's because that all people already bought a 680 prior to the 670 launch :) .

Since you are upgrading in the end of the year I don't think this is a legit answer for the time that you are buying your card, because from now to that time there will be new cards coming out and there will be a load of price adjustments.

Wow.. Christmas... many cards will come out and the market will have shifted by then. You can't really plan upgrading computer hardware in terms of this long.

Yes you can use MSI Afterburner with any card on the market. I use it all the time and I run two EVGA card in SLI. Why wait for it I can give it to you now along with the user manual.
