I'm looking to buy a new graphics card. i my budget is around $100-$150. i know its not much. here is what i have to work with
AMD A8 3070k 3.0 quad core APU with Radeon 6550D
Asus F1A75-M Pro FM1
4gbs DDR3 1866
600w PS

Also, curious if its worth looking for cards that will support crossfire with my APU, as it might be more cost effective.
thank you for any help

No, I think 6850 is a better deal than 6770 or dual graphics, how much is your RAM by the way? But to be honest if you're going to pair the Llano with 6850 I don't think it's a good idea. The graphics part of the Llano will be disabled and you will be left with your CPU (that means you wasted your money on the graphics). If you don't buy them yet you can change the processor with i3 or something.

as above, you end up paying for a CPU whose saving grace is the integrated GPU, and then not using it.

an athlon II would be cheaper and perform the same (and have more upgrade options)

but really, it would be worth going intel. an i3 dual core will still trash the llano in pretty much any real CPU task.
I love Llano chips, will be building a HTPC with one soon, but as an apu. the cpu is average at best.

I agree that the Intel would be a better solution but then you would basicly be building a new computer since tou will be getting a new cpu and motherboard to go with the new graphics card.
If money is tight then the video card would be the best option and then upgrade the rest later if you want to do that , neanwhile you can see how the 6850 performs with the setup that you have now.
