Hard too say. The x4 965 is getting long in the tooth for gaming, the new SB i3 dual cores give it a run for the money in most games. the GTX 560ti's are the most power full GPU's out, so they might be a good match.

you could try some over clocking and under clocking to see what effect the CPU is having in your rig.

dont get me wrong the cpu is doing its job its running bf3 in ultra with no issues at all (except wen i minimize window and go back its got some wierd shading thing going on) but in full screen i can play for hours with no hiccup.
iv been looking at the fx cpus theres a quad clocked at 4.1 if i remember correctly was wondering weather that would be a better option for my rig and give the phenom to my gfs rig to replace her athlon quad. what u think ?

the x4 9xx family is one of AMD's finest CPU's. unfortunately the new Bulldozer based CPU's don't improve gaming performance much. jumping to an intel platform with an sandy or ivy i5 quad core would be an upgrade. a move to Bulldozer is more a lateral move. though a 4.2 Ghz bulldozer does sound like it should shred some stuff. if you already have a AM3+ MB it might be a thought. your GF will get a good upgrade if nothing else.

this review has the FX 4170 4.2Ghz benchmark not sure how accurate it is. I tend to only trust THG and anandtech for the most part.
