Hello all! I've had my Audigy LS for sometime now and I can get surround sound to be enabled in games and such but when it comes to any dvd type software all I can select is 2.1 (left and right) speakers. Anyone know why? I've tried going into the control panel, selecting 5.1 sound. I have the logitech Z640 speakers that have 3 conections to the sound card itself. I know nothing about SPDIF and i'm not sure if thats something I have to have or not...any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

What dvd software are you using?
Make sure 5.1 is selected in the creative sound manager thing as well as in the control panel.
What if you select 5.1 in the dvds menus?

I could try that. I'm using nvidia's dvd software NVDVD 2.0 that came with my geforce 6800 gt video card, says it's the full version and in the help shows you how to enable the 5.1 sound. 5.1 is enabled in the control panel and in the creative software, not sure what the problem is, it just doesn't allow me to select more than 2.1 sound in the dvd software.

Ahh... I too tried that nvidia dvd software a while ago and I too could never get that thing to work right. At least you get any audio out of it, lol. I highly suggest finding better dvd software. I got powerdvd 6.0 and it is awsome.
