Bad month I had. :(

First, I had to replace my new antec 620c with antec becaus it had a bad capactior

Next, I just got asus 5450 for $29.99 - $20 rebate but I up on the rebate!! :fou:

I sent in the wrong invoice/recipt from the antecPSU arGGH!!!1! :pfff:

Then, my registry got corrupt by windows 7 manager registry cleaner and had to a fresh install... :fou:

Well already got antec to send me a new unit last week and it's coming today.

also, i'm consdiering returning the video card to amazon and get whatever money I can get back....not sure how much money i would lose form the restocking fee but $30 seems a lot for a super low end card. i already knew that before I bought it because i wasn't intending on playing video games but i totally forgot about Dialbo 3 was coming out this year.

you can see my setup below:

Antec 300 Illusion Case w/ custom 120mm side intake fan
Antec NEO ECO 620C
Asus M5A88-V EVO
Phenom II X6 1605T 3.0GHz
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3 1600 F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
Asus ATI Radeon HD 5450
Crucial M4 128GB
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Build 7600

basically i want a card that meets three requirements please

1. is supported by 620W antec NEO ECO PSU

2. my budget is around $100-$200.

3. plays D3 on HIGH (or possibly even maximum) settings

4. Do I need to overclock?

5. Do I need an aftermarket cooler?

anyways here's a video list i put together for ya. there's plenty to choose from and if you know the answer you probably don't need the list anyway because you've probably done your research already. so i'm here to leech off your work heheh

but i honestly i dont' know which one has the best price / performance ratio.

anyone out ehre who knwos can reocmmend please?

The radeon 6850 or the gtx 460.

1. A good 500W power supply with do for either of these
2. Approx $150 for each at newegg.com
3. Each will max game detail at 1920x1080 at rougly 60 FPS
4. Overclock not nescessary. Will max game at stock speeds
5. Stock coolers on card are ok

The 6870, 460, 6850, 7770, 560

1. they all should be fine with that Antec neo 620W
2. 6870 and 560 is about $180, 6850 and 460 is about $150 and 7770 is about $135
3. They all should, Diablo 3 is not that very demanding game. At 1920x1080 maxed detail it should be fine.
4. No, you're fine
5. No, You don't have to overclock so stock cooler should be fine.

My bro says that his gtx 560ti with no OC plays D3 with no problems ...I can tell you from my experience last night that my 550ti 2gb version from evga (slight oc from factory) played Diablo with no problem. I did check off the shadows and AA and music off since I always do for every game lol and my game play was smooth last night ...I may be tempted to use shadows and AA on to see how it goes ...

I think the acoustic guitar that plays most of the music in dIII is awesome. It actually sounds the same as the first two games but it is still cool. I find it adds to the mood of the game and it also adds a bit of nostalgia. I usually turn off music too but not in Diablo. The shadows also make it look a bit cooler. If you can, you should turn them back on.

i spotted a few deals today and wanna know if it can get max out settings AND with AA, shadows, music, etc turned on.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521

XFX Double D HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity $139.99 AR

the 560ti seems to be out of my budget so I found a 460 (includes Digital Creativity Essentials Bundle.)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130750

EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1363-KR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card $124.99 AR

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130749

EVGA 01G-P3-1361-KR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card $114.99 AR

Which one is the better deal or shoudl I wait? because I leanred that possibly 560ti is basically good for maxing out almost all games and a bit 'foolproof'?

yay! I decided to get a dual fan 560 TI 448 for under $200. i prolly overkill for d3 but i may wish to play other games in case.

i'm gonna oc the 'hell' out of the frozr hehe no pun intended

i wonder how the oc would compare and if my psu has enough juice for it.

If you only intend to use a single card, then it's not an issue about getting extra cooling. As long as your case has good airflow, that is all that really matters. I used to have reference GTX 560 Ti's in SLI and a GTS 450 for PhysX and the temps never went above 75C in my case.

I believe I have good airflow in my case. When I get a chance can I post a pic of my case to show you? I just want to be sure because I don't know much about the physics of airflow dynamics, etc. It would be nice to have a second or third opinion.
