So the time has come for me to build a new computer. I haven't PC gamed for awhile now due to school, but now that I am out and have some disposable income here is what I am thinking:

CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core $229.98
Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 ATX LGA1155 $159.99
Memory Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 $189.99
Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $94.99
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $94.99
Crucial M4 64GB 2.5" SSD $84.99
Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX 570 1.25GB $254.99
Case Corsair Vengeance C70 (Black) ATX Mid Tower $137.84
Power Supply Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V $130.98
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Full (32/64-bit) $164.95

Or viewable here: New build

Thanks in advance for the input!

Change to the much cheaper Z77 Extreme4 or Pro3. You won't get the benefits of IB with a Z68 board.

And that is why I posted this here! Thanks for the imput. Is there anything else that stands out that I might be going overboard with or overlooking?

The GTX 570 is no slouch, but if you can ditch the SSD, as it is a luxury you should not get on a sub $1200 build, you can upgrade the GPU to a Radeon 7950.

I haven't ever played around with radeon cards aside from laptop builds when I was going overseas. I haven't really been very impressed with radeon in the past, is this a dated feeling I have about these cards?

Current gen Radeon cards are good performers.

The Hyper 212 EVO is fine for a 4.2 GHz OC on IB, which is all you really need.

I wonder if he's going to overclock or I can freak out on him....

Overclocking on IVB doesn't net as much performance increases as Overclocking SB.

Looking for some suggestions in the OC area if you have em Guerrero. Never done it.

It is easy. Just increase the clock multiplier by .1x and see if the system boots at stock voltage. Once it does, you can up the voltage little by little. Then, use Prime95 to stability check the temps.

If your not overclocking dont get unlocked CPU... you can save $30 if you dont... im no master at OCing.... use Prime 95 like how Azeem says and get CPU-Z and Core Temp

$30 in the grand scheme of things doesn't really blow my skirt up.
