hi, i bought this card today (Gigabyte GTX670 OC), and on msi afterburner it says that my core clock is 705 MHz, memory clock is 3004 MHz, i thought it would have been 980 Mhz core and 6008 MHz for memory? or is there some sort of power saving thing going on with this card

do explain to me :)  thank you!

best way to find out is to have msi afterburner in the background and run a game, go back and look at your gpu clock graphs.

When you find this out, what are you doing in the computer? If you are doing nothing then yes that can be a power saving feature. If you want to check the real clocks, go run a game like alvine says.

when im doing nothing core clock goes down to 300~ish
when im playing battlefield 3 or rendering a video it goes up to 979

but the memory clock stays at 3004 max,

it goes up and down by itself, so maybe it is a power saving thing

3004 Memory clock is actually 6008, because it is GDDR5. 979 on core clock is normal, so that means you are OK.
