Hello, I was curious which would be the best gfx card to run diablo 3 on high settings, and i'm looking to buy a new power supply around 400 watts. I'm currently running a geforce 9600 gt 1 gb ram, but it's lag spiking badly and idk if its my card or my power supply(since my supply wont turn on my computer unless i press the on button 20 times). would a 1gb ddr5 be better than 2gb dd3 ram? thanks

edit: not wanting to spend more than $150 on a new graphics card, but hoping i can run d3 on high settings in the next expansion ( dont want to keep buying cards) i'm also on a 24 inch widescreen monitor if that has anything to do with it and im not using a hdmi also if that has anything to do with it thanks

My 550ti 2gb version with a slight OC from EVGA played D3 very smoothly. I did not used the shadows and AA because I never do lol the rest was on. I'm tempted to try it with my old gt 440 from galaxy to see how it goes ..but I think it will run it..

Your graphics card is somewhat less than the recommended for D3:
http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-system-requirements

You might want to look at one of the newer 28nm based cards since they require less power.
Something like the 7770 would do the job. If you prefer Nvidia, look at the GTX550ti.

Plan on spending $50 or so for a quality 500w psu.
My short list of quality units would incluce Corsair, Antec, Seasonic, PC P&C and XFX,
DO NOT go cheap on a psu for a host of reasons.

a 6770 is better for D3 than a 6850, i know shocking . . .
high%201920.png

BUT it should be better in other games.

Nah, that "500w PSU required" is horsefeathers. Watts don't matter as much as the amps on the 12v rails. That's the figure you should be looking at. The HD 6770 is very low-power. And the Antec EA-380D easily powers its big brother, the HD 6850. Tom's Hardware's $500 build used to use that combo. A $45-50 80+Bronze PSU with >30amps on the 12v rails will do nicely.

Does the high end graphics card really make a huge difference than the GT 440 in texture, shadow, FX or is it just FPS difference?

Show me pictures/videos comparing 440 to those higher ends ones.

Now I only have intergrated Intel graphics card, maxed out looks like this

Wondering if I should bother upgrade to see much better graphics. If so, please show me comparasions.

Someone show me 440, and also 550 ti and the 6770 that was recommended here.
