Hi all, i'm looking to upgrade my pc around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. My current build is

CPU = Athlon 64 x2 6000+ 3.1ghz
Motherboard = Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H Rev 1.0
RAM = CORSAIR XMS2 4GB DDR2 800 Dual-Channel
Video Card = Galaxy Geforce GTS 450 GC 1GB
PSU = Ultra LS500 500w

I mainly play Skyrim, MW3 and just got Black Ops 2. fps is pretty descent but tends to spike below 25 fps frequently when alot is on-screen. I do get freeze-ups occasionally aswell. Would I be better off buying a Phenom II x4 965 and a 7850-7870 or upgrading my Motherboard, RAM and getting a i3 3220 and a 6850 or i5 3570k and keeping my current video card?

I will also be using it to watch DVDs and 1080p Video Files

Any feedback is appreciated :bounce:  :bounce:

For max gaming experience go higher on the GPU so 965 7850/70 would be my choice.

Would the 965 work fine with DDR2-800 memory or would it be holding me back? Would it bottleneck a 7870?

Although it is not the best it should run it. If you want to be on the safe side get HD7850.
