More about build opinions compatibility check
  1. Looks pretty good but let's see what other have too say
  2. if you want to go amd then go fx if intel then i5-2500k@3.3 ghz

Gpu get at least a 6870,I would do this

Same motherboard but a 4150 fx cpu and a GTX 480 gpu.
  3. Get an intel chip instead. The i3 is about the same price and will perform better.

Second, you could get a cheaper PSU (around 500w) and use the money to get a 6870.

Finally, I'd recommend a better RAM manufacturer like Samsung, Corsair, or GSkill. (In that order).
  4. The i5 3570k is hard to beat. would choose it over any i3

    OBLIOUSLY (on purpose)
  6. If I had the budget for an i5 I would go for it but currently I don't. I can however do an i3 2120.

    Here's the Intel i3 build: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=24611927

    And the processor/Mobo Combo:

Intel Core i3 2120 Sandy Bridge + Biostar TZ68K MOBO

If I choose to I can upgrade to an i5 or i7 in the future with the LGA 1155 socket luckily.

One Question. If the Radeon 6870 requires 2 6 pin power connectors, will one 6 pin and 1 6+2 pin work to power the card by simply leaving out the +2?

Thanks for the help guys btw.
  7. Get better ram like g.skill snipers and you are good.
  8. That doesn't make the RAM he chose bad. It's just fine.
  9. I know I just said the sniper are better/
  10. Doesn't make it better either...
  11. Okay just my opinion
