AMD 64 3000 at 1.84 ghz?

Hey guys, this may be an idiotic question because I haven't done my research yet but why is it when I go into "System" in control panel it tells me my AMD64 3000 is running at 1.84 ghz? I mean, I upgraded from a 2600xp that was running 2.1ghz stock....WTF! Is there a setting that I need to change to speed it up or am just a tard? Or is that how its supposed to look?
