Need help chosing a video card that will be compatible with my system

A year ago I built a computer and I never ended up buying a video card but since diablo 3 has been released I want to be able to play it smoothly. If you could recommend a video card that fits my system and since I don't know much about gaming computers if there is anything else I should add I would appreciate it greatly.

buy yourself a phenom 2 CPU and a 6770 or 7750.

If you are looking at the absolute minimum that can play diablo III at highest setting, the 6770 it is.

But since you are upgrading & have the budget anyway, it will be good to go for a more powerful card. While Diablo III is not very demanding games, others might be.
