Hey guys,
I'm having a strange issue that my computer shuts down whenever I run a game. Sometimes when I turn the pc on, there's no display and a red light on my graphics card. However my computer runs fine while doing other task such as watching movies etc. My specs are : Radeon HD5970, Intel Core i5 @ 3.3 ghz, intel Motherboard, 4GB RAM, 1 HDD, 1 SSD, 600W power supply. Your help will be appreciated !

could be drivers, could be heat, or it could be your PSU. usually with drivers though, the game just shuts down. what temps are your CPU & GPU during gaming? what model PSU do you have?

I guess that's the power supply or the card itself. I don't think a '600W' can run a 5970, except that the 600W is a good one.

power supplies degrade over time, the bad downs do it faster then the better ones. fans can stop working and hardware over heats. what PSU do you have and what are your load temps?

I have an Epsilon 80PLUS 600, I haven't checked my temps but my graphics card gets really heated up

Also check the air flow of the case. You can find guides on Toms. It helps components LIVE longer...
