On average a GTX 670 is 8 percent weaker than a GTX 680, however when you compare the ASUS Direct CU vs a stock 680, it actually beats the 680. Now of course you can overclock the 680 or get a non-reference 680, but honestly its just a waste of money.
Also most people on here will agree that a GTX 670 is a much better buy.
