Hey guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my PSU as my current one is a very cheap one, and I'm worried it will blow up at some point. I am occasionally getting BSODs when playing BFBC2 for long periods of time - might this be to do with the PSU? I am planning on upgrading my system with a new CPU, SSD and GPU in the coming weeks, so I'd like some help on which PSU to buy.

This is my current PSU - not great I know:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alpine-Watt-120mm-Gold-Retail/dp/B0056YB0OK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1353349584&sr=8-2

My system:

CPU: currently Phenom II X4 965T, will be FX8350
Motherboard: Asus M5A87
GPU: currently Asus 6770, will be 7870 (not sure what brand)
RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB
SSD: currently none, will be Samsung 830 256GB
HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 500GB
Heatsink: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7
PSU: the one mentioned above
Case: Xigmatek Asgard with 2x 120mm fans

The PSU I'm thinking about upgrading to is the Corsair CMPSU-600CXV2UK Builder Series 600W http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMPSU-600CXV2UK-Builder-Series-Supply/dp/B0050AFU46/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353348449&sr=8-1

Will that be enough to power my system with plenty of headroom?

Yes - more than enough!

Yes, that is a descent power supply and should give you plenty of headroom for any single CPU and single GPU.

I use the builder series when I can get them on a good sale.

Yes, that would be my first guess. When it gets warm in your case the cheap PSU tend to overheat.
