Does it worth

Hi.
I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ @ 3.04 GHz with an EVGA GTX 550 Ti FPB.
I think my current CPU bottleneck's the video card.
I am interested in upgrading my CPU to a AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE.
Would this be a good upgrade for the moment. Will the video card perform better?
TY.

More about does worth
  1. More than likely there will be performance increase but you may have to update your BIOS first depending upon your motherboard's support for the processor. What motherboard do you have?
  2. I have a Gigabyte GA-M720-US3 and already have bios upgraded to F7N that supports the AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE.
  3. This link shows a comparison between the two processors but you're basically looking at near 100% improvement across the board which makes it very much worth it

With the BIOS update already in place, I can't think of any reason not to upgrade.
  4. Thank you!
Than I will upgrade very soon :D
