hello, i need to build a computer that is reaaaaally cheap that i can upgrade later.
it needs to be at least dual core
i need it for work, for now, but i will be making it a more powerful computer, so it just needs the ability to be upgraded later.
i have a budget of 300 or less, because it's not going to be for gaming right away.
i have windows 7 already for it, so that's not an issue.
other then the OS, i have absolutely nothing for it yet.

TOTAL ~$305

Decent for gaming as-is if you don't need to have all the graphical effects enabled, can be much improved with a simple gpu upgrade and OCing the CPU a bit. If I had to include a monitor it'd be nowhere near as good and you'd need alot more than simply adding a dedicated card.

EDIT: you got me on that one, you should be golden with the parts I listed then.

oh, okay, thanks! and i have a keyboard and mouse, is there anything special about those two that mine cant do? or can i just keep the ones i have?
sorry about the million questions. i haven't built a computer before, so i thought now would be the best time, instead of spending 500 plus on a prebuilt.

An alternative would be going with a cheap AM2+ mobo and a quad core athlon which is about the same performance wise but with a much lesser GPU on the AM2+ mobo, you wouldn't be able to play any games before upgrading, and also being an older tech about to be phased out it'd naturally loose some upgradeability.

Scrape that, just checked and it'd cost pretty much the same with significantly worse performance :D

The ones that you have now should be fine, I just listed those because I thought you had nothing but the OS.
