And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: This was a prebuilt PC I bought about 7 years ago I think. I upgraded it 2 years ago with 4gbs ram, 1TB HDD, 500w PSU, Nvidia PNY GT240, and an Antec 300 case. I sold it to my brother. I'm now trading with him for my netbook. I'm hopig I can just upgrade the CPU and GPU and be ok, but I'm not sure what I can get with that old motherboard. I know its an ancient PC, but I only have $200-250 to upgrade it and i can't afford a new PC. Please help me so i can play games again!! Thanks!

  1. Hm, that's a difficult upgrade on that kind of budget. GPUs and CPUs are the most expensive part of a build.

    Perhaps, try this?...

I'd recommend waiting, increasing your budget, and catch price drops. This is the best I could do at the moment considering your budget and requests.
  2. Ok, thanks for the advice!
So, are you saying that I need a new motherboard?
And I looked up the Intel G630 and heard that its a good value for a gaming cpu.
And ya, as much as I'd like to wait, I want to be able to play Diablo 3 now and Guild Wars 2 in the future.
