Hey Guys -

I'm about to have all my parts for my first PC build, and just wanted to ask a quick question about which slot I should use for my graphics card.

My Motherboard is the Biostar TZ77XE4, and I see it has three PCIE slots.

My graphics card is the Sapphire HD 6950 2GB, which is a PCIE 2.1 card. I know it is backwards compatible, so I can put it in a 3.0 slot, but would I use the top 3.0 x16 slot there, right below the CPU? I just wasn't sure if I should use the bottom 2.0 x16 slot. Thanks for the help. I'm really looking forward to having this thing up and running.

here's the GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102987

Thanks for the help!

After reading online a bit, it seems like I would put the 6950 in the top PCIE 3.0x16 slot, even though it's a 2.1 card.

Can anyone quickly confirm for me? Thanks.

Yes :) Also, if you haven't done a build before, just take your time and keep static in mind (build on a pref wooden surface, slap your case every now and then etc) and in case you're nervous about it you can find many videos on youtube etc to give you an idea what to expect.
