How is this for my first build?

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition

MOBO: ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970

GPU: XFX HD-677X-ZNFC Radeon HD 6770 1GB

PSU: CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB (Memory dont matter for me)

Drive: LG Black 10X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal 12X Internal Blu-ray Drive
I chose a blu ray cuz i have tons of blu rays i want to be able to watch on compuoter too

Case: Zalman Z11 Plus

Keep in mind this is my budget building pc total of $700

please let me know what u think or some cahnges for better performance

Also any other sudgestions for graphics card? GPU? In the price range of $140?

It's a 6870 for about $20 out of the price range you were seeking. But I believe the performance justifies the price difference. Fairly powerful card.

Also, if you plan on overclocking that CPU, you'll need to get an aftermarket cooler. Something like this will suffice...
