Help with Intel speedstepping

Hello I am in need of some help with my intel cpu it does not wish to run more then 398Mhz witch is making watching video and other apps vary hard to do. the cpu is Intel Pentium M 725 that is clocked at 1.6Ghz system is running 2g DDR2 if any one has a good fix for setting cpu speed on laptop that would help a lot or a bypass for the speed stepping I know its hard on laptops hardware to run full out all the time just looking to up its speed when I am running video and a few other apps hope some one can help out. The laptop is Dell inspiron 6000

I am not familiar with the specific BIOS of that machine however most OEM laptop BIOS of that era that I have seen do not allow access to clock modification settings.
due to thermal/voltage constraints.

Yeah you can not change much of any thing in the BIOS on this thing I think I might just get a new laptop it is driving me nuts trying to work at 398mhz

That would be my suggestion. There are many quality options in the $400 range.

I found a nice used one today so I picked it up Dell Latitude E6400 happy with it only spent 200.00 on it has lots of life left in it + it does not have darn Intel GPU has NVIDIA® Quadro® NVS 160M5 so bit better for what I use it for.
