Driver not updating radeon hd5670

i have ati graphics driver version12.3. i downloaded the 12.4 version and removed the old 12.3 through control panel and restarted my pc. now installed the12.4 version installation completed successfully (I also checked the log everything was success including display driver). but still in my vision engine control center it is showing 12.3 not 12.4. same as in case of gpuz

Well you couldn't have removed 12.3 if it still shows your using 12.3.....

I always recommend not removing the previous driver and just updating, the one time I chose to delete the older driver I had issues.

i know what i said and its true. also tried updating/overwriting. no result

It's true you deleted 12.3? Then why does cpu-z say your using 12.3?

Use driversweeper to remove all your graphics drivers/catalyst, reboot, install newest driver from AMD.com

It is a very common problem right now. All the other forums have threads on this topic right now. Stick with 12.3. I set up a RAID 0 and did a fresh install of windows and was able to get 12.4 to install but then I had a Problem with Masseffect3 so I thought I would try a different driver version to see if that was my issue. Since then, I have not been able to reinstall 12.4. I have tried driver sweeper and it still won't install.

I had the same issue when I chose "delete older driver version" during the install.

When I re-installed 12.3 and then just installed the new driver over it, it worked fine.
