ATi 5850 3 monitors

Last response: in Graphics & Displays

hi,

I want to have my setup so I can extend my desktop over 3 screens, or even 2 screens and duplicate (or clone) the 2nd screen and I cant get it to work.

I have a 5850 with 2 monitors connected to the DVI ports (1 using an analog vga adapter not sure if thats important) and the 3rd connected to the HDMI port.

Have latest drivers installed running win7.

Anyone help me out?

More about : ati 5850 monitors

I should add that I can detect all 3 displays and get 2 working at a time no problem, using any combination it's when I try use 3 the problem starts.

For 3 monitors with that setup, the display port connection must be used. You can use 2 of the 3 connections between dvi/hdmi, but either need a display port connection or more likely an ACTIVE display port adapter to hdmi/dvi.

The key here is ACTIVE display port adapter, check out the link below

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

This is for a regular display port connection, they also make mini display port adapters

Thank you for your reply,

OK so the display port adapter, I presume this is the port next to the HDMI port on my card?

So I get that, plug one of my DVI's into it and I now should be able to do what I want?
