Hello,
I have just built my new computer, and am attempting to install Windows 7 64bit thereupon. I am using a p67 asrock motherboard and 320Gig seagate hdd. Everything is going gravy when it tells me that it can't partition my hdd even though there is no other previously existing partition...

Give this a try.
Boot from the DVD, choose ‘Press any key to boot from CD/DVD’ and the install sequence is Loading files, a ‘Starting Windows’ message appears and you type your Language, Time/Currency and Keyboard. Click Install now. Click to accept the License and click Custom for a clean install. It’s now that you can delete/create/format partitions by clicking 'Drive Options Advanced'.
