4 computers on network. one not connecting to the net.

Hi.
In my unit we have 4 computers connected to a wired netgear router.
One of them has all of a sudden lost it's ability to connect to the internet, it is still connected to the network though.
We have tried the standard modem rest, plugging the malfunctioning laptop straight into the modem both to no avail.
So I'm just probing forums for solutions at the moment to find a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your TCP/IP settings on the affected laptop?
(network connection - properties)
Try tick 'Obtain your IP address automatically' for both fields. Allowing the router to assign it an IP in case its internal IP config is wrong...

Also in case a required internet service has been disabled / set to manual you could try black vipers script to set to default services. (google for this) this may help out.

Does that work on windows 7?
When I click properties on network connection I can't see any option to do with an IP address.
