Hi, i'm getting slower adsl2+ speeds in Windows XP compared to Windows 7. I hear windows XP should be slightly faster than 7 rather than mbps's slower.
Currently i'm using my ISPs broadband speedtest function to test between the two, It provides me with LATENCY, JITTER, DOWN SPEED & UP SPEED.
Have a dual boot Windows XP/Windows 7 system, in Windows 7 it speed tests (on average);
8ms LATENCY
0ms JITTER
17.5 mbps DOWN
.89 mbps UP
In Windows XP it looks roughly like this;
9ms LATENCY
7ms JITTER
14.5 mbps DOWN
.89 mbps UP
(similar differences with mainstream sites like speedtest.org)
Which gives me a huge difference in downspeeds, higher ping & jitter, I've tried a few things to sort it in XP;
Re-installing drivers / Trying different drivers (Realtek 8168/8111D)
TCP Half Open -> 150
Using TCP Optimizer with optimal settings
Static IP
Different cable
Spyware sweep - not one.
but i still haven't been able to get it sorted, if anyone has any ideas i'd be grateful. thank you
