Afx radeon 5850. BF3?

hello guys i am currently using my i5 3570k's integrated graphics. i want to take my step into pc gaming and bf3. will this 5850 do me justice at around high or med settings? i heard its good to get somewhere around 50 fps? will i get that?

also will it fit my motherboard and my case?

It will fit but it's at least three generations old now - it might barely get 35 FPS tops. A better choice would be the 7850 or GTX 560TI - they're both about 1/2 the size and use 1/2 the power that the 5850 does.

Which GPU you get is more dependent on your power supply than anything else. You need at least 550W for any modern GPU.

What version of Catalyst was being used on those benchmarks?

i got a cx 500 which kinda pisses me off considering that i could only get like a 6870 tops am i correct?

obsama holy *** them benchmarks on like ultra? i would be fine playing med. settings with 60 fps on 1600x900... would this do that?

Catalyst 12.1 They get 30.7 High on High at 1080p, so with lower settings and and lower resolution, you'll get higher FPS.

I heard Catalyst 12.7 greatly improves response time on the 78XX - I'd like to see those benchmarks.

That's not power supply dependent, that's more motherboard dependent. Your motherboard is probably running your GPU at speeds below x16. Probably x4 or x2.
