Are there any ruggedized phones available for the Cingular system? My
Siemens S56 slipped from its holster while I was running in fom a rain
storm, and is dead. Are there any Cingular system compatable phones
that can handle some abuse?

I tried to destroy my S56. It has been dropped, SLAMMED, SUBMERGED(yes) and
hurled. I gave up, got a black RAZR and keep the S56 in my truck in case I
need a reliable phone.

I just got a Nokia 5140 http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/5140 It's designed to water resistant and it has a ruggedized shell.
The keys are smaller than I'd like but overall it's a pretty nice phone.
It's also unlocked.

I have to admit that my S56 came back to life... I had to mash really
hard on the "On" button... I did have the speaker cover come off...
well I was shopping on EBay and saw another S56 cheap, with a Bluetooth
adapter for my computer, and a car charger, so I figured what the
heck...
