Should i Upgrade?

Hey all,

I was wondering if i should upgrade to a i7-3770k or should i wait for a more polished line of 2011 sockets to come out.
I would attempt to overclock it marginally but nothing insane. I am a gamer with an EVGA 570hd GTX card. Right now im using an Intel Q9550 Cpu with the EP45-UD3L Motherboard running 6bg of Corsair Ram DDR2 PC 6400

I was going to upgrade to the 3770k and get the Asus Extreme board thats 370ish.

How much of a difference will i see and is it worth the upgrade now or should i just wait like 6 months and get an awesome Hex core CPU?

If you're gaming, then you're overspending. An i5-3570K and ASRock Z77 Extreme 4/6 will be sufficient. An i7 and more expensive mobo will be 5% faster in gaming for a much higher price.

Your current system looks quite capable for gaming for now. So, my suggestion would be to wait for the Haswell. And the 2011 socket Mobos.
