hello me again i hate myself for going with 500 wattts but what ever D:

my specs

i5 3570k

cosair cx500

asrock pro3

powerspec vortex 3620

8 gb 1600 ram

i want a 6950 possibly off of ebay because im low on money and want to run bf3. can i do this? i just wish i could use a wattage calculater :S

Our test system isbased on a power hungry Core i7 965 / X58 system.
(which will draw slightly more power than yours)
System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 312W
Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 158 Watts

that CX500 will run any single graphics card solution having 408 watts on the 12 volt rail.

You would be pushing 500 on max load. I would recommend at least 550 for some headroom. You could use a 6950 but I would not advise it. Depending on how good of a psu you have that is.

you'll be able to run a 6950 on thaty PSU fine, I have a similar setup (i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz and OCed 560 Ti) and using my watt-meter I got 350W draw from the PSU (I've calculated the efficiency conversion already, so that's how much the PSU was being pushed). This was using prime 95 and furmark, so real world usage will be even less.
