Does anyone have the mentioned TV tuner?
If so, how is the recording quality/compression in MPEG2? I've heard it can be used with a pause facility but this is only viable if it records with good quality and at a reasonable compression rate.

It can record at Mpeg1 rate (VCD rate) and MPEG 2.5MB/s and 4MB/s Full res and 2MB/s Half res. The product does say 2GB per Hour. The Pause facility is pretty good, but the MPEG compression quality isn't the best out there. For example, even the 4MB/s compression won't give you full DVD quality. It says the video is compressed at 100:1.

It is however quite watchable. The pause facility can be quite good too, depending howmuch harddrive space you have and also the compression quality you select.

No tv tuner records at DVD quality. OK I'll stop being a smartass.

I know. The DVD averages at around 7 to 8MB/s including 5.1 sound. So I thought, it should come close at 4 MB/s with stereo sound.
