Is there a way to anchor the Recycle Bin to the lower right side of my
desktop while still auto arranging the other icons in columns along the left
side of the desktop?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Right click in an empty location on your desktop and select "Arrange
Icons By" to open the menu. Check "Align to grid" and uncheck "Auto
arrange". Then drag the Recycle Bin icon to wherever you want it.
