Hello , I just OC'ed My His IceQ 6970 2GB 900Mhz/1400mhz to 940mhz using afterburner , the stock volts are 1.174v and I was wondering if I would be safe with this OC and these volts , another question , whenever I edit the volts in Msi afterburner it does not save them , so if I set it to 1176 which is what i wanted it to , it goes back to 1174. I have the apply settings at start up box and nothings working < I even rebooted the Pc like it asked , and I get this "RTTSH.dll::AddTask failed with error code-22!" Box then ill click ok and say no to rebooting the pc because it does it over and over. Id really like to do 950mhz and 1.176v but is 1.174 (stock) safe ? Nothing seems to be wrong on my pc and my fan speed is at 50% and it idles at 35c(gpu) thanks

I keep both my 6970s at stock voltage - reference cards - and can get 930 core 1400 memory no problem, 24/7, and 73 degrees is as high as it's ever gone w/ stock cooling. I monitor with afterburner.

Be prepared to void your warranty and/or brick your cards if you fiddle with the voltage - it's just not worth it for whatever little gain you might get from it.

If it didn't stick, I think you are still okay.

You have to unlock the voltage before you can use it. If I were you, I would get an aftermarket cooling block before even considering it.

I am sorry I couldn't be of more help - no experience. But Tom's is full of tons of people who do have experience with what you are doing. I would keep asking if I were you.

Good luck. :)
