Well looking at the benchmarks on a single card it runs battlefield 3 everything on max at around 50fps I'll be turning off MSAA so that will upper it by about 20fps or more.
On SLI it doubles the fps!

Hi :)

It wont double the fps in BF3... where did you hear that ?

Oh and 50fps on a single card ?? (which is also a little unbelievable)

All the best Brett :)

Sorry I should be more clearer to people..

On a single GTX 660 it runs on BF3 on max about 50-60fps but I will be turning of MSAA so it will go higher to around 70-80fps.

If I run in SLI mode (2 GTX 660) it doubles the performance on these benchmarks on this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy5478lBais in this benchmark it doesn't show Battlefield 3 so I don't know that will be like in SLI..

But as I said before according to that video it really doubles or more fps unless he lieing?

Hi Shaun :)

Just about ALL of those Youtube videos are fakes, particularly the ones showing how good THEIR card is...

In BF3 you will NEED a LOT more card than that 660 to run Ultra on 60 fps....particularly in Multiplayer big maps..

All the best Brett :)

660 SLI would be optimal with the 3GB cards from what I've read if you are really interested but on the other hand those models will come with a premium making a another route look more appealing a la 7970 GHz or cheap 680 or nice 670.

Uhm Brett. A GTX 660 by itself is no low end card. It's a solid upper end middle range card. I can go ultra on BF3 with 40-50 fps on 64 player multiplayer maps depending on how much stuff is going on. A 2nd 660 in SLI will give another a decent boost but not 2x in performance. On the other hand BF3 is heavily dependent on CPU power especially during multiplayer so that's another thing to look at.

2x 660s in SLI is quite respectable.

Found something that should be interesting as well..

Looking at those benchmarks gtx 660 for its price is a very good card, including how much it is. I think I'll be getting gtx 660 MSI OC one than next month get another to put in SLI setup, should keep me going for couple of years. Even if I have to turn off MSAA on battlefield 3 it will run 60plus on fps.

I think I get every single YouTube video showing these benchmarks sued for mis advertising than.

with a quad core cpu like the 3570k you can reach 90 or even 100 fps @1080p with MSAA on

Yes I'm going to get another one next month and put them into SLI. Just make sure will a intel i5 3570k ivy bridge overclocked to 4.0ghz and gtx 660 and in SLi bottleneck the system?

ofcourse ..... NOT :D 3570k will not bottleneck anything right now and maybe 2 years later also.

Hi im thinking about buying a 660. I have a phenom ii six core cpu, i was wondeng if that would be enough to run bf3 at around 60fps at medium settings?
