DDR VS SDRAM

I have A new 1.2 GHZ ahlon that supports DDR,It comes with 256 sdram but i can upgrade to 256 DDR ram for $55.00. Do you think it is worth it. Does it run at 266 FSB? Thanks
P.S My motherboard does support 266 FSB

The only motherboard that supports both is the Asus A7A266, because it has seperate banks for each type.

I can't say if your Mobo you support it without more info. But the price for 256mb PC133 on pricewatch today is $19, for 256mb PC2100 DDR its $35. You do the math.

DDR is between 10% and 25 % faster for memory intensive applications. If you do games, digital video editing, or any other multimedia stuff, go for the DDR.

If it works for you then don't fix it.

The processor has nothing at all to do with whether you can use DDR or SDRAM. What kind of motherboard do you have?
