Hia! It's time for me to upgrade my 4mb graphics card( literally, it's 4mb!) and my pentium 3! So im gonna get myself a 2500k with a new gpu. I want to know which GPU to go with: gtx 670 or 7970? In my country, they both cost the same, and we don't have gtx 680s here. All I want to know is which card is better in terms of performance( gaming and Wii emulators). I will be over clocking, but only at the default voltage.

Thanks!

n one quick answer, no. I have a 680 which is just slightly ebtter than a 670 of course, and the car runs every game on Dolphin at atleaaaast 60fps. Don't worry, your good on that.
Get the 670 and enjoy good drivers, PhysX, Adaptive VSync, FXAA, lower power usage, lower noise levels, and better performance in some of the more popular games out there (BF3 and Skyrim to name a couple).

Even if the 7970 gets a overclocked win by a few FPS in a few less popular games, it still doesn't make it a more attractive purchase when looking at the total picture.

OK, so the table is hard to read...in short....

GTX 670 scores 917 fps @ $400 or $0.44 per frame
HD 7970 scores 872 fps @ $480 or $0.55 per frame

Asus GTX 670 DCII TOP scores 999 fps @ $420 or $0.42 per frame
Asus HD 7970 DCII TOP scores 924 fps @ $580* or $0.63 per frame

* Haven't seen for while .... need price update

On a cost per frame basis.....

... the Asus GTX 670 DCII TOP takes top honors at $0.42 per frame....
... the reference GTX 670 comes in 2nd, its $0.44 per frame being 5 % off the top spot
... the reference HD7970 comes in 3rd, its $0.55 per frame being 31 % off the top spot
... the Asus HD7970 DCII TOP comes in 4th, its $0.63 per frame being 50 % off the top spot

Alrighty then, 670 it is! But will it be enough to emulate Wii games on max settings with a smooth frame rate?( dolphin looks a LOT better than my Wii) I heard its weak at gpgpu performance, will this affect dolphin?
