I was wondering if someone could tell me which core is faster? I am looking at getting either the a64 3000 939 with Epox 9NDA3J, or Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra-939. I found the mobile a64 3000 on newegg here I like this one for the 1mb cache but I don't know how much it will help me. If I go with 754 socket I was thinking going for the DFI Lanparty board. I will be doing overclocking but i'm not sure how these two cores compare. What would be a better route for overclocking and gaming? I've seen that some of the 754's do as good, if not better than the 939s. I know that 939 has a better upgrade path, but I can't seem to find any good PCIe cards in stock to go with an nforce4 motherboard, so I was going to go AGP for at least the next 1.5 years and the dual channel memory (minimal boost)doesn't really convince me to go with s939 over s754.
I figure that from my sig, I will still be using my memory, dvd burner, PSU, case. I will be ordering either the x800xt, or 6800gt for new system. With knowing these specs which path do you think would give me best performance with overclocking and let me not have to upgrade again for at least 1.5 years? Also, would the 2 sticks of memory I have cause a problem if I was to go with s754?
