I'm looking to get a new laptop for school work and mild gaming (nothing intensive, just your Fifa 12 or Need4Speed once in a while) for $500 max. Can anyone recommend any pre-built laptops with decent specs in that price range for me; I'm a student and a bit broke.

I collected a laptop off the lenovo factory outlet site with an AMD E450 for $320. E450 will do LIGHT gaming. Look for an a6 or a8 based fusion processor to do a bit better. Anything with intel and no video card won't game. Anything with intel and a discrete card will be > $500.

Check also Betbuy, walmart, HP outlet, etc. They all have overstock and sales.

Here's an A8 system from bestbuy ... AMD Quad-Core A8-3520M Processor with AMD Radeon 6620G graphics .. Lenovo - 15.6" IdeaPad Laptop - 6GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - Gunmetal Gray Metal $540.98 ..

some generic A8 game benchmarks...
