Best video card currently for 1280x1024 resolution?

i need a graphics card for 1280X1024 resolution . which gives min. 35 to 45 fps and also i am building a CPU and i have tight budget of approx 562$ . so please recommend me good computer components .

What do you mean by 'Building a CPU'? You mean Building a PC right? Building a CPU means building a processor :) .

You from India right? What is your budget in rupees and which store are you going to get from.

There is like a 2% difference in performance, and a 40% difference in power consumption. Clearly the HD7770 is the better option in the US, since it's $10 cheaper ($129 vs $139).

Only reason I recommended both is that the newer card is likely to be more expensive in India.

its not 40% but closer to 20-25%...

a difference of roughly 50 watts but the 7770 is more efficient. my previous post does hold true that 6850 is faster but it shouldnt be more than 5%...
