I am going to build a HTPC but I would like to use some existing parts. I have a magnavox BluRay plr. w/1080p and 5.1 sound.I know I can use the dvd drive but how about the board the only info on the board is (BE5P00G06011 Also Ml 94V-0 with a ul #ofE211079 ) would this be sufficient or would an intel (SandyBridge) just be more practical or other. Also a used computer & case would be in order. I do not care how it looks anyone with experience on these builds please reply. leave email or we can SKYPE thanks to all.

What do you want to use your HTPC for? Depending on how old your bluray player is, you might be able to use it for Netflix, playing content from a server on your network, etc. I think it's pretty unlikely that you'd be able to use the bluray player itself to make a Windows PC though - they're typically not x86-based.
